It’s a fair question. In a world where AI can help with structure, chapter ideas, summaries and even drafting, why would anyone still need a book writing coach?
The answer is simple. Writing the words is only one part of creating a world-class book. The bigger challenge is developing the strategy, the positioning, the reader experience and the commercial thinking behind the book.
In fact, I’ve become busier than ever as a book writing coach over the last 12 months, and there’s a good reason for that. Authors don’t need more beige books. AI can help create those very easily. What authors need now is a book that is distinct, significant, commercially smart and genuinely worth reading.
That takes more than prompts. It takes experience, challenge and wisdom. It takes someone who can push the thinking, question the structure, strengthen the message and make sure the book is built to do a real job.
A good book writing coach transfers skills, keeps the author accountable and brings hard-won commercial wisdom to the process. AI can be useful, absolutely. But if you want to write a book that builds your brand, grows your business, opens doors and creates opportunities, human guidance still matters.
Maybe more than ever.
